Sammy Ameobi’s performance impressed these Forest supporters
Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter have been full of praise for Sammy Ameobi after he put in a stellar performance against Birmingham City.
The winger made his debut off the bench against Leeds United the week prior, and he impressed Sabri Lamouchi enough in his cameo appearance to earn a starting spot for the Birmingham game.
Indeed, Ameobi was electric during his debut as he completed six dribbles in just 27 minutes after being subbed on for Albert Adomah.
This weekend the 27-year-old got the nod over the Ghanaian and he didn’t disappoint.
Joe Lolley’s goal and assist may have grabbed the headlines, but it was the former Bolton man who had a number of fans talking.
Several supporters took to Twitter to express how impressed they were by the winger.
Thought Sammy Ameobi was brilliant yesterday. As he was against Leeds. Quick. Strong. Powerful. Carries the ball and gets us further up the park. He’s proving us all wrong, I think. Great to see #nffc

Others were happy to see Ameobi proving people wrong after many members of the fanbase criticised his signing when he first arrived.
Proving SOME people wrong.#not everyone tends to write off new players before they’ve even played for us

Not all of us wrote him off before he kicked a ball ? Maybe one day people will learn…

Another group of fans were over the moon to be proven wrong themselves. People who were formerly against the signing of the 27-year-old have now apologised for doubting him.
I was guilty of criticising the signing and seeing it as an underwhelming MON signing. Should have known better as MON was sacked a few days later and the recruitment done by the scouts is looking strong so far, Ameobi included.
