Martin O’Neill reportedly interested in €5.5 million striker
According to French sources, Martin O’Neill “could try his luck” for French striker Sada Thioub.
Le10sport believes according to their information Forest boss Martin O’Neill has an eye on Senegalese international Sada Thioub, aged 23. Martin O’Neill has come from a 6-month long season after the departure of Spanish boss Aitor Karanka and now wants to further bolster his squad with a few new additions.
Forest currently have three strikers who have all had fair playing times in the run-up to the summer. Karim Ansarifard, Daryl Murphy and Lewis Grabban have all made an impact at Forest during O’Neill’s time at the club. Grabban made a come back after an injury, subsequently scoring his 17th of the season along with Daryl Murphy playing up front as an experienced striker who has played under Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane for Ireland. Karim Ansarifard has made an impact through having 2 starting appearances in the last three games of the season.
But even though O’Neill has +£6 million worth of striking power he might want to add to his attack with a young striker, one of which is Sada Thiuob. The French striker has scored three goals along with four assists in Ligue 1. He has been rumoured for a move to the City Ground by French media outlet Le10Sports who states,
“According to our information, the Nottingham Forrest club would have recently positioned itself. Championship player (second division), the team trained by Martin O’Neill (former coach of Ireland) could try his luck for the Senegalese international (2 caps), author of 3 goals and 4 assists this season.”
Whether or not this information is accurate the French man does resemble a strong attacker who can hold up the ball well and add strength to the squad ultimately portraying himself as a good fit for O’Neill’s side.
